Our Mission

Health – Quality – Well being

Ten thousand years ago the first period of domestication of the cat took place. Since then, several breeds have been developed according to certain characteristics that we sought to reproduce.

Some breeds have developed naturally to be subsequently worked by humans, while others are the result of our selection based on certain particular physical characteristics. Other breeds, on the other hand, are the result of the hybridization of a domestic cat and another compatible small feline.

We believe that these breeds, if healthy, must continue to evolve and exist.

The mission of a breeder is therefore to contribute to the continuation and evolution of this common history and we feel privileged to work to do so. It is the breeders of today who, through their choices, are building the cats of tomorrow.

However, the love of cats must be and remain at the heart of this mission. It is imperative to adopt adequate regulations for animal husbandry and to educate the public on the importance of choosing an ethical breeder. So, in order for this beautiful story to continue in a positive way, your responsibility as an adopter is to always choose a purebred animal from an ethical breeder.

The ethics of a breeder is demonstrated at three levels, which are health, quality and well-being.

  • Health: An ethical breeder will take care to breed only cats in physical and psychological health, having successfully passed a complete DNA profiling as well as the screening tests required for diseases specific to their breed.
  • Quality: An ethical breeder only breeds registered cats that comply with the standard of their breed. Kittens must also be registered with a recognized cat association such as TICA (The International Cat Association).
  • Well-being: An ethical cattery is a cattery in which the cats live in the house and not in another building. An ethical breeder will make sure to always provide his cats with the physical as well as the psychological stimulation they need to be happy.

Since we love cats and all the other animals as well, it is important for us to get involved in the animal cause. It is not ethical breeders who are responsible for animal overpopulation. So, not being part of the problem, we can and should be part of the solution. This is the reason why, for each kitten adopted from us, a portion of the costs will be paid to the Society for the Protection of Animals of Canada in order to support the animal cause.
